a place in the sun

After returning from our year out travelling around the world with the children I needed another ‘project’ that could potentially be an escape from the Rat Race and more particularly the run of poor summer weather in the UK.  The TV was full of programmes like a Place in the Sun so after much searching we bought a farmhouse in the Creuse – pretty much as far as could be travelled by car in 1 day from our home in England. It had been uninhabited for 40 years prior to our purchase and was little more than a shell. In the barns were relics of it’s life as a farm. http://Farmhouse in Creuse

After 7 years of traveling out for most summer holidays and easter and October half term breaks we had transformed the farmhouse part into a decent state. There’s still more work on te barns to do and the never ending task of hacking back the vegitation that grows voraciously.
